PSN is jointly owned and designed as a utility in order to deliver the lowest cost to participants.

Key aspects of PSN's fee structure:

  • Participants whose accounts are transferred are charged a nominal, one-time fee.
  • PSN will have a tiered fee structure – the maximum charge is $30, but accounts with less than $600 will be charged 5% of balance, and accounts with less than $50 will be processed at no charge.
  • Fees to participants are expected to decline as more recordkeepers join the PSN.
  • No cost to plan sponsors.
  • No cost to recordkeepers.
  • Recordkeepers that own and/or participate in PSN receive no compensation for auto portability transactions.
